What to do in case of an Accident:
1. Stop your vehicle if it is clear, safe and legal.
2. Turn off the ignition in all vehicles involved.
3. Check all people involved for injuries.
4. Call Police and, if necessary, emergency medical services.
5. Gather information of all persons involved, or witnessing the accident.
6. Make a quick diagram of where the vehicle occupants were seated and indicate the vehicle’s direction of travel and lane. Also note the date, time and weather conditions.
7. Ask to see the other driver’s license and write down the number.
8. Exchange insurance company information. DO NOT discuss ‘fault’ or make statements to anyone but the Police.
9. Get a copy of the Police report of the accident from the local precinct.
